Mr Chou was very informative and spent time not only explaining the procedure, possible negative problems etc but also willing to answer questions fully with interest. He showed a professional and caring demeanour throughout. He was able to make me feel completely at ease and confident in his ability to safely undertake the procedure.

Having been put on the waiting list for a total hip replacement at a relatively early age due to severe osteo arthritis I was dismayed by the NHS literature that suggested my passion for horse riding would be a problem after surgery. Mr Chou listened to my concerns and was positive about my prospects of returning to riding , and my profession of gardening . Six weeks after the surgery, I was back to both, plus my pilates classes and consider it one of the best decisions of my life. I was fortunate to receive care at the Nuffield Cambridge hospital, which could not have been a more positive experience. I would recommend Mr Chou unreservedly to anyone wanting honest straightforward talking, and compassionate care.

Total confidence in Mr Chou and his team both before and after my surgery. The anaesthetist phoned me to discuss my procedure which was very comforting. Mr Chou came to discuss my operation just before I went down which gave me the opportunity to ask questions about post op. I felt fully informed by the end of my 8 week review. I personally was pleased not to have a lumber injection and only stitches not clips that had to be taken out. I have a minimal scar which has healed quickly and cleanly. My total hip replacement has been a total success as far as I am concerned out of pain from that but saddened by the fact my knee now has osteoarthritis which is causing great discomfort. I sincerely hope that Mr Chou will be there to operate on that. All so positive.

Mr Chou is an excellent surgeon, a kind most considerate person. He explained all the procedures and what his intentions were in order to replace a severely arthritic right hip. This procedure involved increasing the leg length and matching the the new hip replacement with an existing replacement on the left leg which had been carried out eight years previous. The operation was a complete success and I am so grateful to Mr. Chou. I am 75 years of age and enjoy walking and was keen to take up my passionate hobby as soon as possible after surgery and thankfully at five and half weeks after surgery I was able to walk seven miles albeit with the assistance of Leki walking poles. It is now six weeks since surgery and I consider myself very fortunate as I am now back to enjoying a pain free normal life.
